61. You're Invited!

i need your help!

i am now desperately seeking inviation ideas - preferably in a color scheme of brown, ivory and gold (light not brassy). i would also like them to be on recycled paper if possible. oh - and to not have them cost me an arm and a leg.

any help you can give me would be much appreciated! thanks :)

Check Michael's & Target. Getting something "recycled" (ala green) may be tough for keeping the cost down...but you might be surprised.

Can you print them yourself? That'll save a BUNDLE. I found invites to be ungodly expensive, but buying a kit and "making" them myselfe saved a TON of money.

I'll second that printing them yourself suggestion - the coolest wedding invitations I remember getting thus far were homemade. One in particular that sticks out in my mind was layered with 4 pieces of paper total, in 3 different sizes. The top piece was some kind of semi-transparent paper that the information was printed on (I'm sure you can find it at a scrapbooking or craft store). The next piece down was just a photocopied engagement picture, which showed through the top piece, cut to the same size as the top piece. The third piece was slightly larger all the way around, in this case, light blue, and the bottom piece was a little bigger still, in this case dark blue. It was all tied together with a dark blue ribbon at the top. Does that make sense?

PS I still have the invitation - I didn't remember all those details without looking! :)
